The USE OF VIDEO RECORDINGS
1. AIMS
to encourage the use of video recordings as another teaching technique while discouraging its use as a means of keeping children amused when the teacher is absent;
to ensure that the videos shown in school support its policies and assist learning.
2. PREAMBLE
Televisions and videotape playback equipment are available throughout the school, in the charge of the heads of department in whose rooms they are kept. Booking forms supplied by the audio-visual technician are attached to each machine to facilitate the planning of lessons involving the use of video recordings.

3. OBLIGATIONS REQUIRED BY POLICY
v Heads of Department should
ensure that they know which videos are available to the department;
be prepared to give advice about whether certain video recordings should be shown to specific groups.
vii Teachers should
watch all videos before showing them to a class;
record details so that pupils where possible do not watch the same recording twice.4. The execution of this policy shall be monitored by the 11-16 management team.
